General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited HQ ISI, Islamabad today. COAS was given a detailed briefing on the internal and external security situation of the country and ISI's role towards strengthening of national security including its efforts in countering terrorism. Gen Qamar Bajwa expressed his complete satisfaction and lauded the contributions and sacrifices of Officers and men of premier intelligence agency towards strengthening of  national defence and security.Earlier on arrival at HQ, COAS was received by Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar, DG ISI.COAS also laid floral wreath at Yadgare Shuhda to pay homage to the shuhada of ISI.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa was commissioned in 16 Baloch Regiment on 24 October 1980. He is graduate of Canadian Forces Command and Staff College, (Toronto) Canada, Naval Post Graduate University, Monteray( California) USA, National Defence Univesity, Islamabd. He has been an instructor at School of Infantry and Tactics, Quetta, Command and Staff College, Quetta and NDU. He has also been Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade and Chief of Staff of Rawalpindi Corps. He has commanded 16 Baloch Regiment, an Infantry Brigade and has commanded Infantry Division in Northern Areas ( Commander FCNA). He has also commanded Pakistan Contingent in Congo. He has commanded Rawalpindi Corps, and was  presently serving  Inspector General Training and Evaluation at GHQ.

Islamabad:-   P akistan army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday said that completion of the $46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would usher in a new era of development in the restive Balochistan province. "The timely completion of CPEC will usher a new era of development in Balochistan and Pakistan Army is committed to this objective," Gen Bajwa said. Addressing a passing out parade of newly recruited youth from Balochistan into army, paramilitary Frontier Corps and police, Gen Bajwa said the CPEC will ensure progress in Balochistan where it will herald a new era of development. Pakistan Army Soldiers Best In The World General Qamar Javed Bajwa COAS Says Operation Against Terrorism Has  Made Army Stronger RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday said that the operation against terrorism had made the Pakistan Army stronger and battle hardened. The COAS, while recounting the successes of the Pakistan Army, said that soldiers of the Pakistan Army are the best in the world. General Qamar Javed Bajwa said this while addressing the troops during his visit to the elite Strike Corps at the Multan Garrison. He laid a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha for the martyrs, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release here stated.
